Third Grade
This quarter in drama we used various improvisation games
and exercises to explore the importance of listening
and maintaining focus. Students began to develop basic
pantomime skills by manipulating imaginary objects and
reacting to imaginary circumstances though exercises
such as the “Magic Box” and “Zones”. We also started
to explore the relationship between action and reaction
as well as the pursuit of goals onstage. Some class favorites
included “Honey I love you, but I just can’t smile” and
“Make me laugh”. These exercises are chosen and designed
to create a fun, safe, and educational environment that
encourages students to take risks and explore the limits
of their imagination.
