Episcopal Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band and The Herman Jackson Quartet
are presenting a concert in a Jazz Club setting in the Black Box
Theatre. Professional jazz musicians will join Episcopal students
in presenting a program of classic pieces, jazz and rock. The jazz
quartet is led by Herman Jackson on percussion; Arnett Hayes, piano;
Chris Severin, bass; and Donald Evans, sax. These musicians are
donating their services to help raise money to off-set the costs
of Jass, Jasz, Jazz, the opening production of Episcopal’s theatre
season. A production which involves Episcopal Jazz Band, Select
Choir, dance, and drama students.
The Jazz Clubin’ program under the direction of Paul Taranto
includes the Jazz Band performing the classic jazz standard Take
Five to a rock n’ roll hit Give Me Some Lovin’. The Wind Ensemble
will present a varied program of concert selections. The Herman
Jackson Quartet finishes the evening with a set of jazz tunes
from blues to swing to hip-hop. While all this entertainment
is going on the audience can enjoy snacks and beverages, which
are included in the price of admission. Limited seating available,so
