Six members of the Episcopal Highsteppers dance team were named All Stars during a Universal Dance Association camp held at Episcopal June 5-8.

Christen Tanner, Laura Sledge, Liz Young, Caroline Forbes, Melanie Horvilleur and Caroline Rieger were selected for All Stars, which qualifies them to attend the Varsity Spirit parade in London over New Year’s.

During the private camp, UDA instructor and LSU Tiger Girl Lacy Goree taught the Episcopal team four dances, which will be performed during the year. The team also received personal attention in stretching, technique, team-building activities and stand dances.

The Highsteppers performed the dances they learned for their families on the last day of camp. They earned blue Superior Ribbons for their performances as well as the Superior Trophy.

The Highsteppers also held a Drill Down competition, and Caroline Rieger won the “Drill Down Queen” award.
