Episcopal senior named state finalist for high school Heisman
Wednesday, October 26, 2005

Episcopal senior Sean Swanner has been named a State Finalist for the 2005 Wendy’s High School Heisman.

Swanner was selected for the honor based on his academic achievements, community service and athletic accomplishments. Swanner is a standout in cross country and track and a National Merit Semifinalist.

Ten boys and 10 girls from each state were named State Finalists. From this group, one boy and girl from each state will be named State Winners in November. Twelve National Finalists - six boys and six girls - will be selected in December, and the National Winners will be honored during ESPN’s national telecast of the college Heisman Memorial Trophy on Dec. 10.

Since the program’s inception in 1994, one student from Louisiana has been selected as a National Winner. Episcopal’s Meghan O’Leary won the High School Heisman in 2002.
