Students from each division helped to unload, sort and reload
supplies for victims of Hurricane Katrina.
Rosie O’Donnell’s foundation, For All Kids, coordinated
with vendors to send merchandise to Episcopal, which was to be
the staging area for volunteers to work.
As truckloads of paper, flip-flops, notebooks, shirts, pencils,
toy trucks, art sets, baby dolls, and more arrived the students
couldn’t wait to help. Even the smallest children helped
to unload boxes from the tractor, the golf cart and hand trucks
into the Greer Center.
The JV and ninth grade school volleyball team members and coaches,
some middle school computer classes, and most of the lower school
students then sorted the supplies and filled booksacks. When it
was time to reload smaller delivery vehicles, the lower school
students and teachers were there again to help.
Lower school staff, Alumni from the Class of 85, and community
volunteers delivered the goods to schools, shelters and churches
to help in the enormous effort to help Katrina victims.
