Episcopal students won awards in all areas of competition during
the annual Louisiana Junior Classical League Convention on March
11-12. Additionally, sophomore Hannah Park was elected to the office
of state historian. She will be responsible for creating the state
scrapbook for the 2006-2007 school year and will help plan the
2007 state convention.
Episcopal won the following group awards: Spirit Contest, first
place; Publicity, second place; Banner, second place; Scrapbook,
third place; Girls’ Tug-o-War, third place; Girls’ Relay
Race, third place; Overall School Sweepstakes, fifth place.
The following students won individual awards: Lizzie Alost, second
place, Pencil/Charcoal, third place, Baseball Throw; Kalynn Chumney,
first place, Jewelry and Digitally-Enhanced Photography, third
place, Reading Comprehension, and fourth place, Mottoes; Jules
Dellinger, first place, Couples’ Costume and Chart, second
place, Poster, third place, Game, fifth place, Sight Latin Reading
and Overall Creative Sweepstakes, and seventh place, Overall Graphic
Arts Sweepstakes; Celeste Henkelmann, first place, Broad Jump,
and third place, Reading Comprehension; Allie Miller, fifth place,
Three-Legged Race; Caitie Miller, second place, Reading Comprehension,
third place, Classical Literature, fourth place, Latin Derivatives,
and fifth place, Three-Legged Race; Elise Moore, first place, Couples’ Costume
and Decorative Stitching, and fifth place, Roman Life and Customs;
Liz Nichols, fifth place, History; Hannah Park, third place, Greek
Triathlon, and fourth place, Greek Derivatives; Elizabeth Steitz,
second place, History, and third place, Poster; Gina White, first
place, Marathon, Sight Latin Reading and Illustrated Quotation,
