Episcopal students won 14 awards at the Catholic High School Math
Contest on Jan. 15.
Earning first place awards were the Calculus AB team of Jeremy Mercier, Stephanie
Bayne, Trey Miller and Stephen Cassidy and the Potpourri team of Stanley Chen
and Kenneth Leu. Stanley Chen also won first place in the Calculus BC individual
contest.
Episcopal placed second overall in its division and in the Interschool test.
The Trigonometry Math Bowl team of Saamia Faruqui, Taylor Peak, Irene Huang and
Jacob Hobbs also placed second against schools from all divisions. In individual
competition, Irene Huang placed second in Advanced Math/Trigonometry.
Earning third place awards were Madeleine Patrick in Advanced Math/Trigonometry
and Kenneth Leu in Calculus BC.
Placing fourth were Alfonso Croeze in Algebra II and Stephen Cassidy in Calculus
AB.
Sarah Seger placed fifth in Advanced Math/Trigonometry, and Trey Miller placed
fifth in Calculus AB.
Taylor Peak earned sixth place in Advanced Math/Trigonometry.
