Sophomore Matthew Prutz earned the Yoshi Hattori Scholarship, which will allow him to study in Japan for one year.

Prutz earned the scholarship through an application process that included an essay and interviews with judges. The scholarship provides for his travel, living and school expenses in Japan.

Because the Japanese school year begins in March, Prutz will depart for Japan in March and return in February 2008.
