Thirty-nine members of Episcopal’s Class of 2007 and ten
students in the Class of 2008 have been named AP Scholars by the
College Board in recognition of their exceptional achievement on
the college-level Advanced Placement Examinations.
Eighteen students qualified for the AP Scholar with Distinction
Award by earning an average grade of 3.5 on all AP Exams taken
and grades of 3 or higher on five or more of those exams. Those
students are Nichole Anderson, Meredith Cartier, Saamia Faruqui,
Sam Green, Jacob Hobbs, Erin Kirchoff, Gabe Leupin, Erica Lewis,
Jeremy Mercier, Madeline Patrick, Jennifer Preis, Sarah Seger,
Jane Slusher, Robert Stewart, Neal Voss, Sabrina Wood, and Josh
Zuckerman, Class of 2007, and Taylor Peak, Class of 2008.
Eleven students qualified for the AP Scholar with Honor Award by
earning an average grade of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken
and grades of 3 or higher on four or more of those exams. Those
students are Nick Breaux, Jonathan Bridge, Irene Huang, Sam Irving,
Ben Kemp, and Kevin Mitchell, Class of 2007, and Erica Grilletta,
Haley Johnson, Caitie Miller, Hannah Park and Tia Willis, Class
of 2008.
Twenty students qualified for the AP Scholar Award by completing
three or more AP Exams with grades of 3 or higher. They are Trey
Bacon, Grace Barnett, Hugo Campos, Jason Chiasson, Caitlin Craig,
Caroline Forbes, Ben Gremillion, Ana Jackson, Timothy Machen, Fred
Moon, Ross Murrell, Caroline Rieger, Chris Sanderson, Kenny Sheldon,
Elizabeth Thurston and Ali Zamin, Class of 2007, and Claire Gellrich,
Adam Grenier, Laura Steitz and Devin Tempton, Class of 2008.
AP Examinations, which are taken in May after completing challenging
college-level courses in high school, are graded on a 5-point scale
with 5 being the highest. Most colleges and universities award
credit hours, advanced placement, or both for grades of 3 or higher.
