Episcopal congratulates 6th grade math teacher Nancy Callaway
who earned national certification this year. Certification is granted
by the National Board for Professional Teaching Standards, an independent,
nonprofit, nonpartisan and nongovernmental organization and is
achieved through a rigorous performance-based assessment that measures
the content knowledge and professional expertise of accomplished
teachers and school counselors. Annually, about 40 to 50 percent
of teachers who seek this distinction are successful.
Episcopal now has 12 National Board certified teachers. Previously
earning their National Board certification are 2nd grade teacher
Renee Crousillac; Middle School science teacher Dawn Perret; Upper
School social studies and religion teacher Emmitt Glynn; Middle
School English teacher Martha Guarisco; Latin teacher Nathalie
Roy; Upper School math teacher Pam Goodner; Upper School math teacher
Kay Fenton; Upper School science teacher Babs Stapleton; Lower
School Spanish teacher Georgina Lemoine; and Upper School French
teachers Louise Stowell and Lynn Baudrand-Aertker.
