Two current EHS students have recently earned recognition for
prize winning contest entries. Elliot Boudreaux, a 10th grader,
was honored at annual banquet of the Louisiana Outdoors Writers
Association in Shreveport for his essay titled “My Redfish
Spot.” Elliot’s essay won honorable mention in the
Youth Journalism contest designed to encourage youth literacy and
the wise use of our outdoor resources. Elliot’s entry was
one of 339 submitted by 248 students from across the state.
Joshua P., a 7th grader, won a photography contest held for
National Environmental Education Week for his picture entitled “The
Chicks.” The contest was sponsored by the National Environmental
Education Foundation. Joshua’s photograph won first place
in the Hands on the Outdoors for grades 5-8 category of National
Environmental Education Foundation Photography Contest. The picture
was taken at Baton Rouge Earth Day 2007.
