Kindergarten To encourage reading and to foster a lifetime love of books,
we recommend that kindergarten age children be read to daily. It is not particularly
important what books you read to your child, but that the child looks forward
to the quiet, quality one-on-one time with a parent and therefore associates reading
with fun and pleasure. This is the first step toward wanting to read. The following
is a list of suggested types of books which are available from the East Baton
Rouge Parish Regional Libraries.
