"We
must address the
challenge of bringing focus
to our understanding of the place of technology
in the world today, its impact on education,
and how and what we need to teach our students."
Episcopal
Technology and
Learning Plan August 2002
Phase II of the ATC work continued
this summer in June and July. Our June work led
to two days
of working by divisions to complete rough drafts
of our Contemporary Literacy Curriculum. Additionally,
the final task force reports were presented during
this meeting time. These final reports are listed
below. Hopefully, this school year will find
us finalizing the rough drafts and working through
grade levels and departments to begin implementing
these curricula.
A special
treat for the ATC group was the hands-on workshop
in July on campus featuring Jamie McKenzie.
Dr. McKenzie is an international speaker who
has published and spoken extensively on information
technologies and how they might transform classrooms
to support student centered, engaged learning.
His five-hour workshop
was entitled “Thinking, Questioning,
Wondering, and Learning with New Tools.”
